ABOUT HANNAH LALONDE

Hannah Lalonde is a Canadian-American scholar, storyteller, and documentary filmmaker in training. Currently pursuing her MS in Journalism from Columbia University in the city of New York, Hannah combines policy research, global travel, and her BS in international development from McGill University to tell stories that connect personal experiences to larger social forces at play.

With roots in California’s vibrant Bay Area, Hannah’s upbringing was defined by a rich blend of experiences — igniting an early passion for exploration and expression. From painting 400 sq. ft + murals in bioscience incubators to skiing the slopes of Tahoe and catching a sunset on the beach all in one day, to exploring diverse cuisines, art, and music in San Francisco, she has always been attuned to how our environment shapes our world.

Captivated by questions of justice and ethics since childhood, she seeks to understand and challenge the frameworks that shape our everyday lives. Hannah loves to learn, and believes her inherent curiosity to push her to think deeply about how systems operate and where they can be improved to better serve us all.

Analytical by nature and creative by trade, Hannah approaches problems from a myriad of angles, striving to tell stories and craft solutions as innovative and equitable as they are effective.
